The year 1068 saw the arrival of the besieging forces of William the Conqueror, and in the 17th century, York was a hotspot in the English Civil War.   Although today’s residents much more fun to be around, those of the past have all left their marks and their stories. What people are saying about York, England

What a fabulous tour! We loved Andy our tour guide. He was hilarious, and also very kind to wish our friend a happy 60th birthday. Introducing her as a Queenager!!! The tour was very informative and we were made to feel very comfortable on board. Andy’s team were also friendly and accommodating. A thoroughly enjoyable tour, which we would all highly recommend.

Great night with our tour guide, Ellie who was knowledgeable, friendly and created a great atmosphere on the tour. It was a nice sized group, compared to other tours we passed, and the smaller setting allowed it to be more personal and interesting! Good contrast of humour, seriousness and facts! Would definitely recommend.

We booked a river cruise last minute and were pleasantly suprised by how enjoyable if was. The trains-obsessed skipper was highly amusing with his commentary which really made the trip for our family.

Glorious day , all staff were so helpful and friendly , and the commentary throughout the sailing was very interesting and informative.

Lovely enjoyable cruise with an informative onboard talk/guide as we cruised up and down river. Weather in our favour so Sat top deck.
