After enjoying your waffle with a view, explore the area via an expansive trail network connecting Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Bridger-Teton National Forest, and Grand Teton National Park. The tram ride will take you right to the high-alpine hikes, without the 4,139 vertical feet trek to the top. This allows you to save your time and energy for the other exciting activities offered at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, including downhill biking in the JH Bike Park, guided climbing adventures on the Via Ferrata, an aerial ropes course experience, and more. During peak season, your sightseeing ticket includes access to not only the Jackson Hole Aerial Tram, but also the Bridger Gondola and Sweetwater Gondola. You are also welcome to enjoy evening rides on the Bridger Gondola (open Sunday to Thursday only). What should I do on my first trip to Jackson?

Jackson, WY is best known for its mountain resorts and outdoor experiences. There’s plenty to see and do in Jackson Hole, both in summer as well as in winter. Jackson Hole is also a gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks with the most stunning sceneries and wildlife. In addition, the Jackson Hole area also has rich Western traditions. You can go on horseback tours in cowboy ranches, attend rodeos, or experience covered wagon cookouts. 

What are some hidden gems to see in Jackson?

One of the nicest hidden gems to see in Jackson is Granite Creek and Granite Hot Springs. These natural hot springs are located about 1-hour drive from town and are open in summer and in winter, but closed in the shoulder season. In winter, you can get here by snowmobile or with a dog sled tour, and it’s a truly unique experience to soak in the hot waters of the spring with the snowy landscapes around you.

While one day is enough for Jackson town itself, we recommend planning at least a week in the area. This will allow you to see the best of the Jackson Hole, visit Grand Teton National Park, and explore Yellowstone National Park. As an absolute minimum, plan 4 days here: one for Jackson, one for Grand Teton, one for Yellowstone, and one day for some of the fun outdoor activities that the area has to offer.

What is the best way to get around Jackson?

While you can explore the town center on foot, you’ll need a car when visiting Jackson Hole. Alternatively, you can also take organized tours. Most of them offer free pick-up and drop-off in your hotel in Jackson, and so you could see the best of the area without hiring a car as well.

Taylor was a very fun and pleasant guide. He was good with the dogs and answered all of our questions. The experience itself was quite fun. And we got to meet some adorable puppies! This isn't a hard core sledding experience but it was enjoyable and we were glad we did it. Definitely would recommend.

Dallen was our tour guide and was fantastic!!! He picked us up from The CloudVeil and within minutes we saw tons of elk, moose, bison, big horn sheep, eagles and even a coyote! What a wonderful time and the Comoany Busch Buck was fantastic 10 outta 10 reccoemen

My husband and I had Kyle as our guide he was very friendly and funny, he gave us a lot of facts on the animals that we saw and history on the land it was a great fun experience.

The dog sledding and sleigh ride was the highlight of our trip. It was great to meet the new dog momma and her three pups. What a fun day in the great state of Wyoming!
