That there are many famous people buried at Pere Lachaise is known, but the history behind the creation of the cemetary we did not know. Our guide, Victoria, did a wonderful job of giving us the background of the cemetary and introduced us to some people who were very important when they lived. Additionally she gave us less well known information about the various revolutions in Paris. Super guide, absolutely recommended.

This is a must see sight in Paris! It's just overwhelming in every way. Not a sad visit at all. Our guide Hamesh was so informative and in 2 hours we barely scratched the surface. The Vista of the elaborate Graves of the famous and not famous just blew us away. Be prepared for some hilly cobblestone roads but nothing too difficult. Dont skip this!

Excellent tour! As a historian, our guide was very effectively and succinctly able to put into historical context the description of tombs and memorials. He was very easy-going and friendly, and answered all our questions patiently and thoughtfully. He even recommended a nice place to have lunch in the vicinity. I would highly recommend this tour! I only wish I had thought of bringing a hat or putting on sunblock.
