Incredibly stunning church. An absolute must-see if you are near Siena. We pre-purchase tickets which saved us from waiting in a fairly long line. We purchased the tickets only about an hour before our arrival and it couldn’t have been easier. The process was so smooth. We found street parking a short walk away from the Duomo. There were several parking lots leading up to the Duomo but I would skip the first ones you see leading into town as they are quite a good distance from the church and a very long walk. Keep driving & snag something closer.

The cost for the ticket on GYG is the double compared to the official website. Still, since there were no tickets available on the official website for the date I'd be there but I could buy it on GYG, it was definately worth it. Best church to visit when in Tuscany and a must when in Siena.

Buying the tickets in advance was helpful because you can skip the line requiring you to buy your ticket before entry. You still have to go to an office next to the ticket line (we were escorted through the ticket line basically) on the left hand side of the duomo when looking up at its entry in front of the steps. They look at your phone GYG ticket and give you an entry ticket to use to get in. Then you have to walk to the opposite (right) side of the duomo and get in line to enter.
