Alghero: Wine and Olive Oil Tasting at a Local Farm

1. Alghero: Wine and Olive Oil Tasting at a Local Farm

On arrival, you'll be directed to your table in the tasting room by your guide. Your table will already be set with 5 different glasses and a small tray containing your appetizers to pair with the wines during the guided tasting. Your guide will start by sharing information about the farm history, the local area, and the culture, followed by the guided tasting of each wine. You'll learn about the variety of grapes, perfume, taste, and suggested food pairings for each wine. The experience ends with a proof of a top quality extra-virgin olive oil prepared by traditional cold pressing techniques and served with traditional bread. At the end you'll have the opportunity to purchase some of the products you've tried to take home with you. After the tasting, take a nice walk through the vineyard on your own to take some pictures.

Alghero: 2.5-Hour Private Walking Tour w/ a Local Guide

2. Alghero: 2.5-Hour Private Walking Tour w/ a Local Guide

Join this private walking tour led by a local guide to discover the beautiful city of Alghero, one of Sardinia's most picturesque medieval cities. Although largely given over to tourism, the town hasn't given up its unique character and it retains a proud and independent spirit. During this 2.5-hour tour, your expert guide will take you to discover the secrets and the wonders of this ancient city surrounded by sturdy defense walls that were built between the 13th and 16th-century and characterized by the preserved usage of the Catalan language (and, for this reason, nicknamed “la Barceloneta”, little Barcelona). See the majestic Cattedrale (cathedral) di Santa Maria, the Piazza Civica, the Church of S. Francesco with its beautiful 13th-century cloister and the Church of S. Michele with its brightly colored majolica dome. Marvel in front of the 14th-century Torre Porta a Terra, which is all that remains of Porta a Terra, one of the two main gates into the medieval city. Then, get to see Torre di San Giovanni, an impressive medieval tower now used to stage temporary art exhibitions. Alghero's animated historic center is indeed a terrific place to hang out, besides being one of the best preserved in Sardinia. Just one tip: don't forget to bring your camera with you.

We’ve never been to wine tasting, but are definitly going again after this experience! Anna Maria was really good at explaining (in english) all about the wines, and also had a history introduction about Sardinia! The wines and the scenery are absolutely worth a visit.

Very comfortably prepared; nice and informative explanations during the tasting; small winery with a lot of flair; for 5 € you get a guided tour of the winery + olive grove

We had a great time at the beautiful venue. Nicely presented and very informative tasting. Thanks to the staff for a wonderful introduction to local wine and olive oil.

Our guide Sofia was super friendly and explained our Alghero wonderfully. She accommodated requests and we had a great time in the city! Thanks very much!

Valeria was amazing! Definitely get a tour after the wine tasting, it's only 8 EUR pp
