My best experiment in Andalousia! The visit was supposed to be with an audioguide but because of covid, Getyourguide employed local guides to make the guided visit. It began on August 12th at 10:30am and ended around 2pm. The guide, Mar was simply awesome: erudite, effective, she managed the covid rules changements nicely and made us at ease. We visited the place like royals and she generously shared informations and answers. No need to say: the place is gorgeous, even more than what I was expecting. Thank you Getyourguide and muchas gracias Mar.

On September 7th, 2021, we had a guided tour of the Alhambra with Pedro as a guide. There weren't many visitors because of Covid-19. Not ordinary crowds. No lines. No waiting time ....... Pedro was adorable: smart, with good English, humorous enough to know when to stop, polite, energetic, with a deep knowledge of history who could answer questions about past and present life in Spain. We had at least a 3 hour tour of all the places: Alhambra complex, including the Nasrid Palaces, Generalife Palace and Gardens, and Alcazaba Fortress and stay for another hour to enjoy this beautiful place. Thanks Pedro for opening up Granada to us. P.S. Late in the evening of the same day we had another walking tour and to our pleasant surprise, Pedro also directed this tour. It was another 2.5 hours of interesting facts about special quarters of Granada: Albaicín & Sacromonte. Take this tour as well ..... and enjoy.
The palace is open all year, except for December 25 (Christmas) and January 1 (New Year's Day).
There is no dress code for the palace, but be aware that some other Catholic establishments in the city may require arms and legs to be covered. And remember to stay in the shade and drink lots of water!
Public transport (line C3) will take you right to the ticket office. Alternatively, you can walk. There are a few different routes from the city center (about 800m each). The most serene, beautiful, and historically interesting is the road from Plaza Nueva. The route will take you up the Cuesta de Gomérez, through the Gate of the Pomegranates, and into the tree-lined avenues that lead to the Alhambra.
