This was the BEST tour I have taken in Amsterdam, including food tours, wine and cheese classes, Amsterdam walking and biking tours. John our guide and an historian presented an historical context for the migrations of the Jews into Amsterdam and what happened to them leading up to 1942. We visited many poignant landmarks, monuments and walked through the Jewish neighborhoods that were meticulously targeted by the Nazi. But we also leaned of the heroes, members of the resistance, who sheltered and save many Jews. If you appreciate the importance of history, it’s lessons, you must not miss this tour!!

I really enjoyed this experience. The guide was very informative. Among many things, he showed us the memorials along the canal. Those names were the Jewish families who lived in the houses right across the way - before they were taken to concentration camps. It was powerful and sad.
