Full description
Join a friendly local guide to get an authentic experience of Amsterdam on a personalized tour of relaxed Westerpark and ultra-cool Jordaan, two very different neighborhoods that help to paint a full picture of the city. Between these areas, marvel at the city's history, culture, and fantastic food scene as you’re led down buzzing streets loved by locals and tourists alike. You'll be paired with guides that are passionate about the place they call home and who choose to spend their free time sharing it with like-minded travelers matched to them. Explore Westerpark, a neighborhood centered around its eponymous park just beyond Amsterdam's famous canal belt. Take a tranquil stroll through the sprawling lawns (one of the largest green spaces in the city) to Zuiveringshal West — a gargantuan cultural venue that’s the size of a small village housed inside a former gasworks, lined with all sorts of creative gems, from theater to photography to TV studios. Since you're here, why not pop into TonTon Club — a retro arcade where you can grab a drink and a couple of tokens and test your skill with classics like Mortal Kombat, Dance Dance Revolution, and the humble claw machine? Then, snap pictures of Nooderkerk, a 17th-century church, and the impossibly quaint shops, bakeries, and shops lining the streets (pick the prettiest one for a pastry and coffee) as you make your way toward the Jordaan district to see an Amsterdam of a different kind. See the 400-year-old Westerkerk, an iconic monument at the edge of the Jordaan, before exploring the art galleries, restaurants, markets and street musicians that make this neighborhood — and De 9 Straatjes, the quirky streets lined with vintage boutiques and concept stores right next door — famous across the Netherlands.

A delightful experience in an enchanting district.

Riccardo was absolutely superb. He was born and raised in Amsterdam and attended university in England. His knowledge of the city and the area we toured is astounding. We all enjoyed visiting the Jordaan a delightful and charming slice of Amsterdam away from the maddening crowds. His answered all of our questions about all aspects of the city. This was one tour where I felt slightly guilty as I left feeling I received more than I paid for by the end of the tour. Reserve now.... you will not regret!
