Full description
Depart Amsterdam and travel to the enchanting village of Giethoorn in the north of the Netherlands for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Known as the "Venice of the Netherlands," the village is notable for its many canals and complete lack of roads. Upon arrival, explore the fairy-tale village, where only 2,700 people live, on a 1-hour guided boat tour in English. Experience the idyllic scenery from a unique perspective on a leisurely trip through the canals. Watch people punt the traditional flat-bottom boats over the canals as you go. Although most transport in the village is by water, there is also now a cycling path. Explore the beautifully-preserved village by bike or on foot, and see how each farmhouse is built on a small man-made island. Wander the narrow footpaths to discover more than 180 bridges, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the village.

Cherry was a wonderful guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable, super communication with us throughout. She even sent us a full list of things to do in Amsterdam for later. I highly recommend her. The tour itself was awesome. By far, the prettiest town I have seen in the Netherlands. We loved it!

We enjoyed visiting Zaanse Schans and seeing the windmills and all the little village had for us to explore - chocolate, Dutch shoes demo, cheese tasting, etc. A true feel to the Dutch culture. But the best was Giethoorn and the boat tour. Even though it was cold, no crowds was a plus. Giethoorn was so peaceful and serene. Walking on the bridges and pathways, looking at the many beautiful homes was exactly what we needed. Our tour guide, Cherry, was very delightful. We had a great time.

My mom was visiting from the states (I live in Finland) and I took her on a little Europe tour. Our guide’s name was Aku. And y’all, he was so great! Super professional and kind. Two major things I sincerely appreciated: 1) I’m a bigger person & I get a bit embarrassed to do things where my weight is on display. We had to balance the weight of all the people on the boat during the tour. And, of course, I was the heaviest person there. Aku handled the situation with grace and did not make me feel bad or embarrassed at all. 2) On our way back to the meeting point, we happened to pass by our hotel. We asked if he could pull over to let us out and he did so with no complaints. He even opened the door for us and wished us well on the rest of our trip. Everything he did was with a smile and good natured. And the tour itself was so beautiful. I 100% recommend.
