This small group tour turned out to be a private tour. Alexandros, our driver, was very friendly, and we had some very interesting conversations. We stopped to see the Corinth canal, then went on to Mycenae. Our guide in Mycenae was also the same guide we had in Epidaurus. She told us to call her Patty. She was very knowledgeable. Mycenae is very steep, and anyone with knee or hip problems might have some difficulty. The Treasury of Atreus is an awesome sight. The next stop was the beautiful town of Nafplio. We walked the town with Alexandros, and then had lunch at a very nice seaside restaurant, where we continued our conversation about anything and everything. After lunch, we met Patty at Epidaurus. This is a beautiful ancient “wellness” town that has the best preserved theatre in Greece. The acoustics are amazing. It was a long but very satisfying day.

These are three must-see sites, and the opportunity to catch them in one day is hard to pass up. Even so, because of the sheer scope and impressiveness of each site, it's a lot to do in one day and I found myself wishing we had more time even though each stop was well-coordinated with the guides there. The lunch in Nafplio was quite good but a little slow coming for some of our party members.

Really nice day trip from Athens. Having a guide at the sites like this tour does is a must. Felt a bit rushed at Mycenae but we did see everything there. Lunch was good. Really really enjoyed Epidaurus. The theater was so amazing. Our guide, Vera, did some sound checks in the theater so we could experience the acoustics (coin drop & magic triangle clap) that were impressive. However, It’s not just the theater! The ancient site has a lot of ruins to see/explore. Just peaceful & bucolic. Really great day and not too tiring.
