1. Quebec City: Whale Watching Excursion with Bus Transfer

Discover the wonder of whale watching on a day trip from Quebec City. Benefit from comfortable round-trip transport by bus, and the choice between a big boat or zodiac whale watching excursion.  After morning pickup, depart Quebec City for the beautiful area of Baie-Sainte-Catherine, near Tadoussac. Sit back and relax on the scenic drive. On arrival to Baie-Sainte-Catherine, you’ll board either a big boat or be outfitted for your zodiac experience.  The big boat offers inside and outside seating, a covered roof, restrooms, observation platform, a boutique, and a cafeteria. The zodiac offers a more intimate and adventurous encounter, as you observe the whales from water level. Your bilingual guides on either vessel will be more than happy to share information about the whales and surrounding area. Help the naturalist, the captain, the crew, and the other passengers spot the giants of the sea.  Breathe in the fresh air and admire the North Shore of the St. Lawrence River as well as the tiny island of Ile Rouge or the lighthouse "Phare Au Fond Prince." After your 2.5- to 3-hour excursion, board the bus for the return journey. Tour concludes with drop-off in Quebec City.

This trip is a must if you are willing to take the bus three hours each way from Quebec City to Baie-St.-Catherine. My teenaged son & I had been wanting to see this part of Canada for a long while so it was well worth the travel time. The trip was organized and the ride was easy. A stop for lunch on the way was a good break to get some fresh local cheese from the Charlevoix region. Our guide, Benjamin, was knowledgable about the area and pointed out interesting and beautiful things to see on our journey. The whale watching cruise was gorgeous, and it was fun to see whales and porpoises, as well as seals on the trip. The large boat had a restaurant on board which was a nice break if you wanted to duck indoors in case of rain or cold wind. Some of our group took the Zodiac which is more adventurous yet their feedback was that it was very cold and windy that close to the water. You’ll also definitely get wet and need to be suited in rain gear. We loved the tour and would go again!

We enjoyed our day! The bus ride takes 3 hours to get to the boat, but the scenery is beautiful. We were able to see several whales which was great! You have a choice between being on a boat or a zodiac which puts you closer to the water. Neither craft is allowed to get too close so as not to disturb the whales, but it was a treat anyway! We enjoyed the boat ride as well, the natural beauty of Quebec & the St. Lawrence River is something to see!

It was a really cool trip, with fun facts about the regions and cities that were on the bus route. A lot was also said about the different whale species in the Zodiac. We saw about 40 beluga whales and 2-3 minki whales. Also 2 seals. We had a lot of fun!

Just What I Had Expected And So Much More... Absolutely Worth Every Penny Of Money Spent, I Did Not Think This Would Ever Happen Couldn't Be Happier.

Nice experience. Spotted 2 types of whales, seals and more.
