We had a great experience with Mahmoud for our 2 day exploration of Luxor! Mahmoud was waiting for us with a sign at the bus stop, and then took us straight to the Valley of the Kings. We were a bit hungry, so he stopped to pick us up some falafel sandwiches for breakfast (delicious!) which we really appreciated. He explained everything in great detail and answered all of our questions outside the tombs, as guides aren't allowed inside. We visited Rameses IX, Rameses III and Rameses I; and added on Tut-ankh-amen's tomb. He called ahead to the felucca to make sure that there would be enough wind to sail, as he was happy to be flexible and switch the felucca from day 1 to day 2 if necessary. Day 2 took us to Karnak temple and Luxor temple and ended with lunch, and the driver dropped us to the Luxor museum. The one very minor blip was that we were pressured a little into buying a necklace souvenir - but it wasn't expensive and we could have said no if we'd really not wanted it.

We did two days of tour and my partner had some classic travel intestinal problems and they really jumped through hoops to make us conclude the visit (even moving one day at the last). I have to thank not only for the wonderful welcome but also for the BIG REWARDS to help us. Sallam great archaeological guide capable of spoeging not only archeology but also history (out of pure curiosity I asked him and he read and explained some faranic cartouches directly from the wall!). Unforgettable tour to suggest!

Ayman was the best guide you could expect: knowledgeable, kind and told us the best stories about each site. If you start early you could do everything (Luxor and Karnak temples, Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut temple) in a day, but on the other hand, having the afternoon for yourself after a busy and HOT morning is a fine way to finish each day.

This was the best way to see everything and break it out into two days to not be overwhelmed. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us time to explore on our own!

Forget the light show... We had the privilege to have El Taye (no sure for the writing) as guide for our 2 days tour in Louxor! He knows a lot and speaks fluantly French.
