Full description

Witness the glory of the ancient capital of Siam, Ayutthaya, on a private guided tour. Discover the temple and palace ruins of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, including the Lopburi Monkey Temple.

Meet your guide your hotel lobby at 9 AM. Depart for Ayuthaya, which is about 1 hour from Bangkok.

First, visit Wat Phu Khao Thong, or the Monastery of the Golden Mount, which is located just outside Ayuthaya. Then, proceed to the ancient palace and Wat Phra Si Sanphet. Make a stop at Viharn Phra Mongkol Bopit, one of the largest bronze Buddhas in Thailand. After lunch at a local restaurant, drive another hour to the province of Lopburi, one of the oldest cities in the country. Discover how this city was historically within the large Khmer empire and was briefly the capital of the Ayutthaya Kingdom.

The biggest tourist draw in Lopburi is Phra Prang Sam Yod - also known as the Monkey Temple. See mischievous macaques that live in the temple grounds and surrounding streets, happy to relieve people strolling by of snacks, drinks, sunglasses, and other items. After saying goodbye to the monkeys, return to your hotel in Bangkok.

Excellent excursion. Our guide, Jill, made us feel comfortable taking care of every need for the whole day. Private transport with a very comfortable and luxurious minivan. Lunch in a local Thai restaurant with the possibility of ordering what we wanted. Jill also bought some typical products from time to time for us to taste and gave us information on Thai life and culture. Highly recommended

Tour Guide Jill and Driver Happy we’re so wonderful. The van was spacious and comfortable. I took a nap to the Monkey Temple (2 hours). You and your group are treated very well, bathrooms, water, lunch and special touches like a fan and flowers for the temple. Highly recommend this tour! Only room for improvement was the communication for the pick up time. I had to call since I didn’t hear from them.

This tour was excellent. Moo our guide was very informative and looked after us on the day. Thanks Moo you did a great job. The monkeys at Lopburi are fun to feed but there are so many of them and you have to be careful that they don’t jump on you. This part of the tour may not be suitable for very young children as the monkeys run free. Great for adults though. Ayutthaya is really interesting and loved the history. I have done this tour before and enjoyed it this time as much as the last. Being on a private tour is the best way to travel.
