Full description

Enjoy a small-group tour of the magnificent temple ruins of Ayutthaya, the capital during the golden age of Siam. All entrance fees, an expert guide, and lunch at a local restaurant are included. Travel from Bangkok in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle or choose to join the tour at your first stop in Ayutthaya, Wat Lokayasutha. This temple is known for its giant reclining Buddha image, one of the few structures remaining intact here. Your next stop is Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, being part of the royal palace complex this is where royalty performed rituals. It is considered the most important temple of Ayutthaya. Then, visit Wat Mahathat Ayutthaya. One of the oldest and most significant temples in the history of Ayutthaya, it once housed the Buddha's holy relic. Admire the famous Buddha head entwined within the roots of a Bodhi tree. After, tuck into a hearty lunch at a local Thai restaurant, where your guide will be available to advise on local culinary specialties. Last but not least, finish your trip at the grand, riverside Wat Chaiwattanaram. Marvel at its compelling architectural style, influenced by the Angkor Wat complex in Cambodia, as you wander around the monumental grounds.

As the pick up was 6:30 am, and the company was 2 hrs late for pick without notice ( due to accident). Is would have been nice if the company could call us to advised us, we could have get some breakfast. We was pick up a taxi for over an hour drive to meet with the group on a mini bus. Is was a heavy rainy day, some area of the temple was flooded. We stay in the bus with the last 2 temples. Over all I would have enjoy it more if it was raining. The lunch was very tasty. I would recommended the tour and would love to go again next time I go to Bangkok.

Sam was a great tour guide, and I learned a lot about each of the 4 temples we visited. He also did a great job making our tour flexible with all the flooding in the area while still ensuring we saw everything, and taught us a lot about the challenges facing the area.

The company had a difficult day, with our pickup vehicle involved in an accident, and then torrential rain delayed it's replacement (we're talking Bangkok Monday morning peak hour). But the eventual pickup car then raced us up the freeway to catch up with the bus, about 50km away; great work guys. Our guide was very experienced and knowledgeable, and had excellent English; he really value-added for us. The trip was a good length, and finished off with a nice Thai lunch (pre-ordered and ready when we arrived at the restaurant). Overall, very enjoyable, and my wife and I highly recommend this team
