Full description
Discover Berlin's most interesting places by solving clues around town and unlocking amazing stories. Visit Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate, and the Berlin Wall, as well as other locations. Download Questo, the gamified travel app, onto your smartphone, and begin your exciting exploration game. Play the role of a person needing to escape East Berlin in 1984, and see if you can do it. Solve a clue to reveal exact directions to your next stop on the tour, without the need of a map, GPS, or a physical guide. Each solution unlocks an interesting story, and reveals Berlin's secrets. Complete the tour at your own pace as there's no time limit, though around two hours is normally enough. Pause the game at any time, and restart whenever you want from the last place you visited. After purchasing the quest, an access code will be delivered to your email, which can then be used in the downloadable app. Once you have downloaded the app, simply head to the starting point at Potsdamer Platz whenever you choose, and begin your adventure. For larger groups, one person can purchase access for the entire group by selecting the number of people in the group. All group members will be able to play the city game on their smartphone. Alternatively, each person can purchase their own voucher. You can play as a group and solve the clues together as you walk, or you can split into smaller groups/teams and compete against the others. Each person can also play on their own, separate from the group, and meet the group at the end.

We had a lot of fun and a good time. You also take a closer look at things and get to know a few corners that you might not otherwise have looked at. The questions were very simple and we sometimes thought them too complicated, so it's a great experience with children because they can be involved (my son was 8 years old), but too simple for adults. For me, I would have sometimes wished for more excitement and more demanding tasks.

The game was entertaining, very interesting and also suitable for children (10 years). The texts were clear, read well and could be solved. We only had to skip one puzzle, but that wasn't a problem either. And it was a lot of fun and it certainly wasn't the last time we used the app.

We used the app as a family with our two children (13 and 14 years old). A very nice concept to playfully explore East Berlin. At the same time, the children are given a feeling for the situation in former East Berlin before reunification and for the risks that courageous people took to flee from this terror regime. However, we considered one of the tasks to be almost impossible to solve. This should be reconsidered in terms of difficulty. You should also plan 3 hours instead of 2 hours as announced.
