Next, journey towards the Costalunga Pass and see the historical luxury Grand Hotel Carezza, where former guests include the Empress Sissi, Winston Churchill and Agatha Christie. Continue to the Fassa Valley in Trentino, and pass through the towns of  Vigo di Fassa and Canazei to arrive under the imposing peaks of the Sella massif. Next, travel a long series of 27 hairpin bends (switchbacks) en route to the Pordoi Pass 2,239 meters above sea level. Stay for 1 hour, and take the cable car to Sass Pordoi, 2,950 meters above sea level (optional) when it's open (late May until mid-October and Christmas to Easter). Admire the glacier of Marmolada (3,343 meters) and majestic Sassolungo (3,181 meters), the most famous mountain in the Gardena Valley. After a 10-minute break to take photos, travel down the Sella Pass and enter he Gardena Valley, where you can explore its largest town with a 1-hour stop in Ortisei. Bolzano: Famous Dolomites Sledge Slope Experience

2. Bolzano: Famous Dolomites Sledge Slope Experience

Tobogganing is a winter sport for everyone, and lets you have fun zooming through the bends at high speed  or more sedately, depending on your mood. On your own, as a couple or in a group, you can push off with your feet before using your feet and upper body to steer. Child's play, but not just for the kids! Once in the ski resort, you will use a modern gondola lift to climb to the starting point of the toboggan run at an altitude of 1,830 meters-above-sea-level. The toboggan track is famous because due to its being equipped with an artificial snow system that allows its use even when there is no natural snow, and because it is equipped with a lighting system for fantastic night descents. The track is 2.5-kilometers long, and the difference in altitude is 280 meters. The track is considered to be of a simple difficulty, making it perfectly suitable for adults and children alike.

Owe some trip

Thanks for our tour guide Alex to introduce us such a beautiful place. We were there on 1 Apr 2018 and luckily it was a really nice weather day. We took the cable car to Sas Pordoi and it is so beautiful! Thanks Alex's winter jacket so that we won't cold to death in the mountains. He also very nice to dropped us off at Santa maddalena. It is a amazing place too. We had a really good time there.

The trip exceeded my expectations! Alessandro was an incredible and knowledgeable guide. From the moment he picked us up at the hotel, he gave us all the information on the most beautiful spots in the Dolomites, he was a very cautious and attentive driver, something so important when you drive those steep mountain roads with lots of curves! The landscapes were just breathtaking! I highly recommend his services! Bravissimo Alessandro!

Great trip with an excellent tour leader Alessandro!

Took 3 day tours to see the Dolomites, with Alessandro from www.italydolomites.com. Excellent trips with very good explanations of both historical sites and natural geography of South Tyrol. Efficient pace without being too rushed and flexible itinerary. Highly recommended for anyone looking to see all the key points of interest in the Dolomites!

Highly recommend! Beautiful Mountains! Great guide!

We did the Eastern Dolomites on a six hour private tour with Alessandro! He was a professional in all ways. He was very knowledgeable, kind and patient! The mountains and lakes were breathtaking! It’s a must do!
