Go 500 meters into the two caves, which feature an unusual up-welling of warm, mineral-rich water. Learn why the Szemlő-hegyi Cave is referred to as the underground flower garden of Budapest and see its unique rock formations. Explore the interactive exhibition and educational trail.

Continue to the Pál-völgyi Cave and marvel at Hungary's longest cave system, around 32 kilometers. Find stunning stalactite and stalagmite formations, and glittering calcite crystals.

This tour was amazing! Our tour guide Peter was just the best- friendly, funny and enthusiastic with lots of knowledge about caves and caving. He had so many personal stories and life experiences to share with our small group of 6 which made us all more comfortable with each other and we got to know everyone a little more. Peter has such fun and creative ways of seeing things in the caves and really is a one of a kind guide! 5 stars all round and definitely would recommend this activity to anyone visiting Budapest! :-) love from the UK x

This was a fun and interesting tour. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking to get a different view and history of Budapest. Peter is a great guide and mixes education and humor very nicely. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking involved. It’s also very damp in the caves so be prepared for that as well.

We had an amazing time partaking in this tour. Our guide (Peter) was not only really funny with his jokes and anecdotes, but was also very knowledgable about everything having to do with caves. His guidance made the tour that much more enjoyable! The tour consists of 2 parts, both stunning but slightly different in how they look. As the caves are 13 and 11 degrees celsius, it is strongly advised to put on long trousers and to bring a sweater, even if the temperature outside exceeds 30 celsius. Finally, Peter advised a lovely bakery at the end of the trip, which is truly delicious.
