Full description

Visit Lake Balaton, the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe and known to locals as the Hungarian Sea. Visit Balatonfured, the most important traditional bathing resort, located on the northern shore. Ramble along the tree-lined avenues and enjoy the ambiance of the 18th century villas. Walking along the yachting marina, you will enjoy the view of Tihany Peninsula. Take a boat for a 1-hour cruise on the lake. After lunch break (not included), you will stop for swimming on the way to Tihany. You will drive to Tihany Peninsula, a magnificent nature reserve at Lake Balaton. Admire the most amazing view of the lake from Abbey Hill in Tihany village then discover the inner lake and lavender fields. After this, you will return to Budapest where the tour ends in the city center.

All right! Balatonfured excursion, boat ride on the lake, two-course lunch (soup + second course), 1 hour on the beach and final visit to the village of Tihany. Must do if you are staying several days in Budapest. Mercedes minibus equipped with every comfort for the journey of about 2 hours.

A Pleasant Day Out

A well run tour that visited several sites around Lake Balaton whilst learning about the region & Hungary in general. The pace was right with enough stops to keep everyone engaged. Many thanks to our guide Cecilia who was a wealth of information & our driver Laz? who took us from stop to stop in a safe & professional manner.

Very informative day

I enjoyed my day tour with our guide Martha. As there were only three people we went in her car. It was very very hot weather, so the air conditioning was nice. She was able to answer every question and had an enormous knowledge of Hungarian history and politics and folk stories, farming, housing and nature. The lunch was disappointing. The tomato soup was sweet like it had come from a can. The main course was rice, chicken and salad and was tasty but a bit dry. The pick up and drop off worked well.
