Enjoy an adventure through the streets of Calgary that is perfectly tailored for those with limited time in the city. Choose a public or private tour option and see some of the city's most famous landmarks on a short walking tour. Start your tour at the base of the Calgary Tower where you will meet you guide and other like-minded travelers from across the globe. Your guide will introduce the group, key some icebreakers, and give you an overview of the tour at large. Head west to your first destination, Edison Square. This is a great place to start historically in Calgary and the block is surrounded by 4 iconic buildings that have shaped Calgary to be what it is today; The Fairmont Palliser, The Grain Exchange, Edison Building, & Canada Pacific Railway Station. Travel one block north to Stephen Avenue, named after the first president of the CPR. This street is mainly a pedestrian only street which makes for great sightseeing. Notice the beautiful architecture and sandstone facades. Make your way east towards Olympic Plaza. This plaza was used for many ceremonies and events during the games and continues to be a gathering place in Calgary whether it be sunny and hot, or snowing and cold. Continue on your journey to Arts Common. Head inside and see how the arts shape the city and the impact it has on the wintery months. Whilst inside head up to the Plus 15, a public sidewalk that connects downtown 15 feet in the air. Use the airwalk to the Calgary Municipal Building where you will see a beautiful memorial for Chief David Crowchild, a monumental figure in Calgary. Visit the Calgary Public Library. This building was designed by two firms that did a wonderful job and is a huge highlight for many visitors. Spend some time discovering the many perks of such a building and then continue into East Village where we can see the National Music Centre, and Calgary's Saddledome in the distance. After a short introduction to East Village you will re-enter downtown to visit Calgary's City Hall, a picturesque building that might be missed without a knowledgeable local guide. Next, Juame Plensa's Wonderland Sculpture sit below the Bow Tower. The Bow's towering height and Wonderlands grandeur size compliments the area and gives Calgary a larger than life feel. From here you enter into The Bow for a short 15-minute rest, where you'll have the opportunity to use the restroom, or pick up a coffee. The second half of the tour is filled with excitement and awe, including; a real plane hanging from the rafters, a C-train ride, Calgary's Devonian Gardens, the Galleria Trees, Birdo's impressive mural, a city planners dream, and much more. At the end, you'll be left with local recommendations and tips for the rest of your time in Calgary.
