Full description

Hike Caminito del Rey, a suspended walkway surrounded by a scenic landscape, with a guide on a trip from Málaga. Along the route, learn the real story behind the construction of this great work of engineering.

Hop aboard a bus from Málaga and travel to Ardales. Receive a safety briefing from your guide and strap on your helmets. Start the one-way hike of Caminito del Rey at the North access and make your way to the South access.

Pass by mountains that emerged millions of years ago and vertical canyons born by the force of the Guadalhorce River. Listen to stories of adventurers and climbers. Hear about the visit of one of the most powerful men in the history of Spain, King Alfonso XIII. The trail has a length of 4.8 miles (7.7 kilometers) but is a simple walk, especially with your guide keeping you company. At the end of the trail, return to your bus and be driven back to Málaga.

The whole tour was greatly organized. After arrival we split into 3 groups and got some water. Our guide Jose Miguel was the best guide you can wish for. He talked in fun and engaging way, took photos for everyone and even sprayed us with some water for a refreshment on the hot day Caminito del Rey itself offers beautiful views and the hike was very easy (if you need a physical challenge this is not it).

Excellent tour with excellent guides. A young fun tour guide Fran was with us on the bus. He gave us information about the walk itself and the villages we passed along the way. We were then split into 2 groups where i was in a group lead by Ian. Very knowledgeable person who, originally from London, has lived in the area for the past 20+ years and gave us lots of information about the history of the dam, the flora and fauna of the area and how the canyon itself came to exist. Plenty of time after the walk for a rest down, beer or refreshment. Overall the tour took just over 6 hours. If looking for a fun day trip from Malaga with spectacular views, i'd definitely recommend this tour. Greetings from Ireland sláinte

Really enjoyed the whole trip from beginning to end. Everything was well organised. Our guide Jose Miguel had great stories and lived near the place. You could really see that he was passionate about it. There was plenty of time to take pictures and the views were amazing. Book in the afternoon so you don't have to walk in the hot sun. It was a once in a lifetime experience!
