3. Naples: The Bourbon Tunnel Guided Tour with Entrance Ticket

See enchanting scenery unfold before your eyes in a secret place full of history and atmosphere on a guided tour of Bourbon Tunnel in Naples. Choose the Via delle Memorie tour option to enrich your trip by walking the historic underground route. The Bourbon Tunnel was built in 1853 by Ferdinand II of Bourbon, who, concerned about the outbreak of the rebellion, asked for an escape from the Royal Palace to the barrack in Via della Pace, now Via Morelli. The work was not completed and, during World War II, the tunnel was used as a military hospital, later becoming the Hall Judicial Deposit. The war left its mark even in the subsoil: find handwritten messages of wishes and desolation of those who lived there. In the tunnels, find statues dating back to the fascist period and an exhibition of cars and motorcycles, abandoned for years and then freed from the rubbish. Add the option to walk the Via delle Memorie, an underground route carved out of the tuff. This tour starts from the Palazzo Serra di Cassano basement. See historical finds from WWII, 16th century caves, and a water tank from the 17th century, later used as a bomb shelter. End your tour with a walk through the last section of the tunnel.

This tour was amazing! Daniela was so kind and was enthusiastic about both food and Naples and she made the tour very enjoyable. The food was amazing and we went to places and ate foods I would never have known to try myself. I highly recommend this tour. I also did it on my first day in Naples which helped me to see some of the city and orient myself to the surroundings.

We had done a few food tours in Rome and this by far was the best! As a local Paola knew all the best places to go. She highlighted the best of Naples and is clearly proud of her hometown. Her passion was contagious and my family cannot wait for a return visit to Naples. When we do return we will definitely reach out to Paola! She was the best!!!

This was a great experience! Really good quality food and an ample amount - make sure you come hungry. The guide Carolina was very informative & helpful.

Mario was awesome. The places he took us to eat were so delicious that I will definitely visit again. Great way to experience Naples! 100/10 recommend

highly recommended, not only an explanation on the local food but also on Napoli in general
