Day Trip to Venice by High Speed Train from Rome

2. Day Trip to Venice by High Speed Train from Rome

Set off on a day trip from Rome to reach Europe’s most romantic city in just a few hours by high-speed train. Your tour leader will be with you all the way from Termini train station, escorting you to the platform and on board. They will explain the highlights of Venice, and give you your ticket for Venice’s waterbus transportation. After reaching Venice in little more than 3 hours, enjoy a one-way ride on the Venetian typical public transport, the waterbus, or Vaporetto. It will be a fantastic opportunity to get the first glimpse of this magical city and its breathtaking views. Get to St. Mark’s Square, the heart and soul of Venice’s historical center. From the waterfront, marvel at the magnificence of the western façade of St. Mark's Basilica. Take the opportunity to go shopping or sip a good Italian coffee in one of the historic venues in the center, or get lost in the labyrinth of the insanely romantic alleys. You definitely cannot miss the Bridge of Sighs (Ponte dei Sospiri), which is among the city's most beloved locations and a source of many popular Instagram shots. On the way back to the railway station, join your tour leader for a fantastic aperitivo, or cicchetto as the locals call it: a mix of small savory side dishes typically served in the so-called bàcari and accompanied by the famous Venetian Spritz. Head back to Rome.

Venice: Highlights of Venice City Exploration Game

3. Venice: Highlights of Venice City Exploration Game

Take the role of a burglar on a mission and visit St. Mark’s, the central neighborhood of Venice on this phone exploration game. Solve clues and unlock stories as you discover Ponte della Paglia, the Doge’s Palace, St. Mark’s Clocktower, and more. The city game starts at Ponte della Paglia. The story unfolds as you solve challenges, with step-by-step directions on your phone guiding you to the next location.  It will take you between 1-1,5 hours but you should explore at your own pace: simply pause the game and resume when you want from the location where you paused it. Play on your own, in a large group, or in several smaller groups that compete against each other before meeting at the final stop of the game. The game concludes at Palazzo Bellavite.

Not to be missed Very beautiful palace I recommend Ci you can take with the pass the price is interesting because it includes the visit of 3 museums and several churches. Not all of them are free and you have to pay 3€ to visit them. This price remains expensive for those who do not have the pass because on some there are not exceptional things to see

Far cheaper than paying on the day, but only if you make the effort to see at least two of the museums covered by the pass. Loads to see if you’re interested in history and art, otherwise save your money for cichetti and wine in the many Bacraro’s - or for eye wateringly expensive tea and cake in Piazza San Marco

We visited the Doge's Palace and the Murano museum as a family. The tickets also allowed us to go off in smaller groups to other destinations. We had a great experience! The Doge's Palace was busy, but it was possible to see everything clearly.

Be sure to scout out where to exchange the vouchers! You can do it on the PIER of MARCO POLO AIRPORT, before getting on a boat to Venice island. Once you have the tickets, the experience is wonderful.

The experience was nice for a day tour. Like an introduction to Venice
