Copenhagen: Danish Folk Legends Self-Guided Walking Tour

2. Copenhagen: Danish Folk Legends Self-Guided Walking Tour

The legendary creatures of Danish folklore are more than just the Little Mermaid immortalised by H. C. Andersen. The Danish bestiary also includes such monsters as man-eating trolls, dragons who hoard treasures and fight against bulls, the heraldic wild men depicted on the royal coat of arms and the strange creature known as the ”Sea Bishop”. Even the centre of Copenhagen that draws the most tourists and traffic is haunted by mythical beasts who are seen in statues, reliefs and artwork on buildings. Yet many of these monsters remain unknown to most visitors. You can, however, now fill this gap in your folkloric knowledge with this self-guided GPS audio tour. Download the HidDenmark Monstour VoiceMap unto your Smartphone. It will guide you on a journey from the Tivoli amusement park over the Copenhagen Stock Exchange to the canals, while narrating how weird tales of strange and terrible beings have shaped the capitol of the country.

I absolutely loved this tour. Stuart is incredibly knowledgeable and with a great sense of humor. The tour was interactive, fun, interesting and really informative. I totally recommend it to anyone who wants to know Denmark through the eyes of someone who chose to have his home here after visiting 70 countries and living in more than than 20 of them.

Excellent tour from a very well informed guide. I really enjoyed my 3 hours with Stuart. He was full of knowledge of Copenhagen and has some excellent facts and stories regarding the city and its people.

A walking tour made incredibly enjoyable by our host and guide Edgar. He was spontaneous, relaxed and very very knowledgeable about everything Copenhagen and history overall. Highly recommended.

We were lucky enough to be the only guests that day so we had a true private tour. Edgar our guide was very enthusiastic about the history of Copenhagen and passed it on very well. Great!

Stuart was very knowledgeable and the time flew by.
