The castle is about 20 to 25 minutes out of town, not 10 as many of the tickets say. Cheapest way to get their is by bus. Don’t use a taxi. Spectacular-looking castle on top of a hill. Absolutely dominates the landscape. You have to walk up the hill unless you have a car. There is some parking at the top. Once inside you sort of get the feeling that they heisted some things from Harry Potter - the use of audio-visual education is quite good. It is really set at the kid level. Feels like a movie set waiting to happen. Game of thrones did use it.

This was an amazing experience and without doubt the best Castle I have ever visited. The staff at Almodovar were very helpful and made the experience even more enjoyable. We also had to make a last minute change to our plans and the Almodovar staff could not have been more accommodating. The Castle itself makes really good use of modern technology to enhance the visitor experience. The sympathetic restoration of the Castle combined with the artefacts transports the visitor back in time and provides an insight into what life must have been like in olden times. A visit to Almodovar is highly recommended and should be high on any list of attractions to see.

This castle is a topper! To put on your bucket list when in the surroundings of Cordoba. There's a parking lot at the entrance of the castle, otherwise, you will have to climb the hill for 20 minutes - in the heat that's not what you want to do! And for the fans of Game of Thrones: this castle has been used as a film location!
