Visit "Pfunds Molkerei," the prettiest dairy in the world. Tour the Dresden Zwinger Museums - a range of important baroque buildings that originally served as an orangery. A further attraction is a visit to the Procession of Princes, a vast mural painted on around 23,000 Meissen porcelain tiles, the largest of its kind anywhere, depicting the Electors of Saxony on horseback. Great way to get an overview of Dresden.

Dresden has so many fascinating places and so much history it can be overwhelming to know where to start. The hop on hop off bus goes around to 22 important sites and explains a bit about each in about 1 1/2 hours and then you can decide where you want to go and get off the bus when you want and then back on to go to another place. We enjoyed the tour. Dresden really needs a week to do it right. We will be back.

Our walking tour with Grit was the best I've ever had!

We did the walking tour in English with Grit. I've lived in Europe for the last 4 years and have done dozens of tours. Our tour with Grit was the best, no question. She was very open with her background growing up in Eastern Germany as well as very knowledgeable about everything we looked at. There was not a single thing I asked about that she didn't have a very well-researched answer for. She's so passionate at her job- she ended up spending an extra hour with us so that she could explain things more deeply. I'm not easily impressed but her commitment and depth of knowledge blew me away!

Overall it was a good tour.

One suggestion: on other hop-on-hop-off tours all languages, including the native language of the country, were heard through earphones. No other native language (Spain, France, Belgium) came over the loud speaker as German was projected in Dresden. While we found the tour good, we would be reluctant to recommend it to non German speaking friends. The loudspeaker interferes with the audio of the earphones. Everyone should have earphones!
