Full description

Explore the streets of Old Dubai on a guided walking tour. Have the option to choose between a shared or private tour. Visit the coin museum, try delicious local food and drinks, cruise along Dubai Creek on a traditional boat, and peruse spices and gold at local markets.

Your tour begins with a visit to the historical quarter of Al Fahidi (Bastakiya). There you will have several stops where your guide will tell you about the history of Dubai and the UAE, its culture, life in Dubai, and the religion and the beliefs of the area.

Then continue to the coin museum, where you will see the ancient coins of Arabia and Dubai. You can also admire fantastic views across Bastakiya from the roof. Stop in front of a mosque and learn more about Islam.  Following the mosque, shop in the local markets (souks). Before your visit, get tips from your guide about the prices and tricks of bargaining with the local merchants. Then walk through the old souk, known for clothing, textiles, souvenirs, and Kashmir scarves at the best prices.

Take your time to shop and sample fresh juice, street food, and local tea.

Follow this with a boat ride to the Spice Souk and Gold Souk, where your guide will explain the different herbs and medicines and try the camel milk chocolate!

The tour continues to the biggest market for gold in the Middle East where you can admire intricate metalwork.

This tour was great. I enjoyed a really great experience on this trip with Mohamed our tour guide, he is a really interesting, and. engaging. He taught us a lot about the local culture, and between stations as we walked he answered all of my question. Truly he is a very knowledgeable man. We were given opportunities to stop and shop after getting price recommendations from him so that locals won't rip us off, also we got to try local goods along the way and hear a lot about the young country and where it is going.

Do not miss this tour!!!! Our guide, Hamza, was very knowledgeable, and took time to explain what to look for in each market. He gave examples of “fair” prices before we were given time to shop in each one. He also gave a great hands on overview of some of the spices in the spice market. We had plenty of opportunities to ask any burning questions too. One word of advice (aka my goof) …understand your home country’s rules on what you can bring through customs, especially when it comes to spices (dried fruits, flowers, ground spices, etc).

I can not say enough good things about this tour and the individuals running the walking tour. Muhammad and his team went above and beyond for us! I was feeling ill that day and thought of leaving. His staff saw and helped me get through the day, offering drinks and such. Such good knowledge, attentive, provided local snacks and drinks. Made sure we were knowledge Bout the market and where to go. Again, I would recommend this tour... IT IS A MUST DO in Dubai!!!
