Full description

Enjoy a theatrical sightseeing tour of Edinburgh onboard the Ghost Bus, a beautifully refurbished vintage double-decker, painted in traditional midnight black.

Learn about Edinburgh’s grave robbers, plague victims, and the ghosts that reside in the most haunted city in Europe. Explore the city's gruesome past, while admiring its most famous monuments, including Edinburgh Castle, Grassmarket, Greyfriar's Kirk, Holyrood Palace, and the Royal Mile. As you traverse the Old Town and New Town, visit the sites of murders, tortures, and executions. Hear about the infamous Burke and Hare, and the hundreds of women who were drowned or burned as witches. The bus, which belonged to the Necropolis Bus Company, boasts decorative features that include atmospheric lamps and window curtains. In 1967, the entire fleet was destroyed in a mysterious fire, and only one bus survived.

Me and my boyfriend booked the trip in December, must say the tour was actually hilarious not for the jokes but more for the extremely weird experience. The bus guide was a bit odd, but what a guy!! Only grumble was the speakers on the bus where so loud I was deaf at the end of the trip, and there wasn't many spooky educational facts, I learnt more on the open top red tourist bus. However if you want an absolute howl then you will not be disappointed, light hearted fun.

Tour guide was hilarious throughout with his commentary about the cities history and reputed ghost sightings. Played the part of a friendly yet deranged psychopath extremely well. Added comments from driver, also in character of a madman, added to the hilarity. Had a brief stop at a local graveyard with a tale of more ghost sitings and then back on the bus for more sightseeing around the city. Fun and games on the bus made the experience even funnier. Wasn't sure what to expect on the tour, but really enjoyed it, hilarious.
