Continue through the breathtaking Drumochter Pass, skirt the stunning peaks of the Cairngorm National Park, and visit Culloden, the last stand of the Jacobites against government forces. The first day ends in Fort Augustus, a quaint highland town. Overnight at a B&B in Fort Augustus.   Day 2 Take a steam train journey back in time. The Jacobite steam train route has been rated as one of the world's great train journeys. Travel past Britain's highest mountain, deepest loch, shortest river, and westernmost train station. Cross the viaduct featured in the Harry Potter movies and pass the Glenfinnan Monument, where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard at the beginning of the 1745 Jacobite rising. Have lunch in the west coast town of Mallaig, where you can taste the best of Scottish seafood. Head back to Edinburgh via Glen Coe. Would highly recommend. Our guide was Steven B and he was great. The scenery was so beautiful and there were fun places to stop and shop. Our guide was very knowledgable and he really taught us a lot about Scotland's history. The train ride and ferry ride were so much fun and the towns we visited were so quant, with excellent food choices.

Excellent guide who was extremely knowledgeable about all things Scotland and made the trip a travelogue and simultaneous quiz. He had no end of jokes to keep us laughing. The Hogwarts train, The Jacobite, was very nice. Some smoke residue came in the open windows, otherwise there was no downside. Loved every minute of the tour and train trip. The B&B accommodation was excellent. No complaints.

Brian’s geographical and historical knowledge was amazing.

Brian really made the tour very successful with his vast knowledge of historical and geological facts and he brought it all together with stories of his personal experiences which were very interesting. Brian was very prompt and courteous the ultimate professional. We would do this tour again if we were guaranteed that Brian was the tour guide. The overnight accommodations were very good. Since I am older, one wish for me would be to have a bus with a toilet. That seemed to be the general consensus of most of the people on the bus.
