Full description

Start your full-day tour of the Scottish Highlands by passing Linlithgow Palace—the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots—and arriving at the National Wallace Monument. Here, your guide will reveal the story of Scottish hero William Wallace, whose victory against the English was adapted for Braveheart.

Take a glimpse of Doune Castle, a medieval stronghold that fans of Monty Python, Game of Thrones, and Outlander will recognize. After a morning coffee stop in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, the tour continues to either the Highland gateway village of Callander or Loch Lubnaig.

Marvel at the fantastic views from Loch Tulla then travel across the wilderness of Rannoch Moor to Glen Coe. This magical setting may look familiar, as it was a set location in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

A lunch stop is next up on the itinerary before heading to Loch Ness for some monster spotting. A boat trip on the lake is available as a tour option. Enjoy views of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain, and return to Edinburgh via the Grampian Mountains and Highland Perthshire.

Our day trip to the Scottish Highlands and Fort Augustus was excellent. At first we thought that the rainy weather would spoil the whole trip, but somehow, when we got to the stops, the rain always happened to stop, which guaranteed great pictures and memories of the destinations. Our tour guide Alan was absolutely excellent and with his help the trip was safe, fun and educational. Our minibus was also absolutely brilliant and the long journey went comfortably sitting on good seats. The highlight of the whole trip for us was definitely Glencoe and its views! We were a little sad when we realized that some of the destinations we had read about at the time of booking were only passing through, so we didn't stop at them. These included, for example, the William Wallace Monument and Doune Castle. But on the other hand, the places where we stopped were breathtaking and really good! Excellent trip overall!

It is really a best of Highlands 1 day tour. Lots of things to see in 12 hours. Kevin was a great and very knowledgeable guide. Fun atmosphere, comfy bus, lots of photo opportunities and one of the most beautiful place of the world. Make sure to take the Loch Ness boat for a little Nessie “hunting”.
