This vaults tour takes you beneath the streets of Edinburgh's Old Town into a dimly lit space that many considered to be haunted. Your tour visits the vaults of the South Bridge that date back to the 1700s.

These are the same vaults mentioned on Most Haunted Live as one of the scariest places on earth. Learn how the vaults have been used over the years, and the living conditions endured by the poor and homeless residents who frequented them.

The darker side of Edinburgh's history will unfold as you wander through the candle-lit underground area. From your guide, you'll hear about the Burke and Hare murders and the persecution of witches.

Discover the characters who stalked the streets of Edinburgh, and the paranormal stories associated with the vaults. The Haunted Vaults tour option will cover more paranormal and ghost stories. Step into the torture exhibition and explore how and why these items were used.

Brilliant experience, the walk from the meeting point to the entry point of the tunnels was very informative and then linked to the tour of the vaults underground. Darren was a very informative and funny guide, offering lots of information and stories of the vaults with massive enthusiasm and audience interaction. He was also very reassuring to the audience whilst simultaneously maintaining an air of fear with the stories of haunting and the history of the vaults. Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys history and/or ghost stories.

Had a great time with my partner, who was visiting Scotland for the first time. Even though I’ve lived in Scotland my whole life I’ve never took a tour of the vaults in Edinburgh. It was fun to learn about the history, and the tour guide - Andrew - was fantastic at keeping the group engaged. There is so much to do in Edinburgh it can be overwhelming but I’d definitely recommend this tour.

The tour itself was very good, our guide Stewart was good fun and very knowledgeable. The downside was your email to where you click on the get your voucher. It totally messed up my android phone. Had to shut it down and restart it a couple of times. Click on the print your voucher worked obviously I'm standing in the street so couldn't print it.
