Full description

Get better acquainted with Scottish whiskey on this day trip by van from Edinburgh. Explore the distilleries of Glengoyne and Deanston and go for a drive along the shores of the famed Loch Lomond.

Depart from Edinburgh in the morning aboard a climate-controlled van and relax on the drive west past Stirling castle. Arrive at Glengoyne distillery and be introduced to the simple but magical process of turning barley, water, and yeast into whisky.

Unwind with a scenic drive to the shores of Loch Lomond. Stop at a pub where you can purchase a hearty lunch and some local beer. After lunch, have the option to go for a short walk to the viewpoint overlooking the loch before making your way to Deanston Distillery.

Explore the interesting features of this distillery that was converted from cotton mill on the banks of the river Teith. Find out how they produce some unique whisky flavors. Return to Edinburgh with the stories and flavors of single malt whisky fresh in your mind.

Easy to find and very well organised. We had a great day out visiting the distilleries. Learnt so much from the excellent guides who were very pleasant and informative. Nice lunch in a comfortable and cosy pub by Loch Lomond. Our driver Kevin was terrific with wonderful insights into Scottish history and culture. Friendly and amusing. He was a careful and considerate driver for both his passengers and other road users. All in all a day to remember. Thanks Rabbie’s Tours.

It’s a wonderful trip w our guide telling us stories and histories related to the sightseeing and as well as background info about the distilleries which I find it very informative. But I wish there are more time allocated after each distillery visit so that we can have time to decide what to buy!

It was my mistake that I did not read the fine print… I did not realize they charge additional 25.00 for the tasting, I assumed it was included. It would help if the whiskey tasting tour actually has tasting included. The guide was amazing and the first distillery was world class. Thank you
