Full description
On this incredible tour, we explore the beautiful Scottish Highlands seeing castles, lochs, sculptures and perhaps some ‘Hairy Coos’ along the way. Departing the historic Royal Mile on an air-conditioned bus (16-34 seats) we head towards the iconic Kelpies, where you can take a close up look at these magnificent sculptures. We make our way towards Balloch, situated to the south of Loch Lomond’s Bonnie Banks. Here you can explore and take an optional hour-long boat cruise on the loch. Departing Loch Lomond we head towards the quaint village of Aberfoyle before exploring the picturesque Duke's Pass. Passing through Callander we make our way to Stirling where you can either take a stroll around the city centre or visit the historic Stirling Castle. Heading back we stop to catch a glimpse of the famous 3 bridges that span the River Forth before returning to Edinburgh *Boat cruise and entry to Stirling Castle are paid for on the day and are not included in the price of the tour.

An amazing trip from start to finish- can’t believe how much we saw. The Kelpies were incredible, as was Stirling Castle. Also thought seeing the Forth bridge so close up was brilliant. The only thing that could possibly be improved is that we got to Stirling quite late.. 3 o clock and so didn’t really have long enough time to look around, especially as it was dark. Possibly the trip could be reversed and do the kelpies last when they are lit up and go to Stirling first ??

Overall a very good day trip. The description reflects everything you experience on the trip. Stirling Castle is absolutely wonderful and more than worth seeing. The seats on the 16-seater bus may be a bit tight for two slightly larger people sitting next to each other, but the regular stops made it quite good. Our guide Brian was the real highlight of the tour. As a local, he had all sorts of interesting things to tell and kept us entertained throughout the entire trip. An absolute recommendation for Brian! All in all, for this price, an absolutely worthwhile trip through the northern Lowlands. Many thanks to Get your Guide and Hairy Coo!
