Full description

Meet your expert bilingual guide and follow them into the Opera del Duomo Museum. Once the workshop of the Cathedral, Opera Museum attracted some of the greatest Florentine artists, including Donatello, Botticelli, Michelangelo, and Vasari, just to mention a few.

Admire the magnificent Doors of the Baptistery, hear the captivating stories behind the largest dome in the world made by Filippo "The Mathematician of Beauty" Brunelleschi. Still covered with mysteries, it is still an enigma how he managed to construct such a superb construction without any adequate equipment.

Marvel at Pietà Bandini, one of the last but not least impressive statues by Michelangelo Buonarroti in which the Master immortalized his image in the act of embracing God. Finally get ready to conquer the most picturesque of Florentine towers, the bell tower of Giotto. Climb all the way up and be stunned by the stupendous 360° views of Florence and surrounding hills.

We had a small group booked but it ended up being just the two of us which was great for us. Our Guide Carmen was very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the tour. After the tour of the Baptistry and museum Carmen left us to climb the Tower. As it was Sunday Carmen advised us that we wouldn't be able to visit the Cathedral until after 1.30pm but could use our ticket within 3 days. We learnt things we would not have done if we had walked around without a guide. Thanks Carmen.

Had the pleasure of doing the tour in German with Viktoria as a guide. I can't imagine that anywhere else you get more knowledge about the cathedral, the city and the most important works of art than with her. Especially in a city that has such a multi-layered and complex history of building and art, it is incredibly enlightening when someone helps you to grasp the connections and the big picture; super eloquent, knowledgeable but never dry and always with an exciting anecdote up his sleeve. A big recommendation to all German-speaking visitors to Florence.
