Full description
The Cupola of Florence or Brunelleschi’s Dome is one of the most impressive architectural structures ever built – and still to this day. There are many things to explore inside and out of the Florence Duomo but luckily with this guided tour you save a lot of time and you will learn a lot about the Renaissance. Discover the great works of art inside of the Florence Cathedral Museum such as Michelangelo’s ‘The Deposition’, Donatello’s ‘Penitent Magdalene’ and the ‘cantorias’ or singing galleries. Also known as Museo dell’Opera del Duomo and the Opera del Duomo (OPA). Pay a visit to the Baptistery of St. John. Its exterior facade is geometrically patterned in colored marble, featuring a few famous statues by Andrea Sansovino is one of the oldest buildlings in the city of Firenze, constructed in the Florentine Romanesque style between 1059 and 1128. This impressive structure is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are three sets of bronze doors of the Florence Baptistery – the south doors were designed by Andrea Pisano and the north and east doors by Lorenzo Ghiberti, one so close to perfection it was nicknamed the ‘Gates of Paradise’ by Michelangelo. And because you’ll save on time and not have to wait on long lines, you’ll have more of it to admire each and every detail.

Booked and offered was Cathedral & Brunelleschi's Dome City Tour. Tour took us to the museum and then to the dome. City tour was never planned according to the guide. The guide made the museum and dome super interesting and they are absolutely worth seeing. However, the city tour should be deleted from the offer text, otherwise one assumes false assumptions.
