Full description

Embrace Italian culture by taking a Tuscan cooking class from Florence directly to the countryside surrounding Montalcino. Tour the vineyards, taste the wines, and learn how to make classic Italian dishes from scratch.

On this private day tour from Florence, visit a family-run boutique winery situated on the slopes of Montalcino, a renowned wine region in Tuscany. Tour the estate, visit the vineyards and historical wine cellars, cook the Italian way and drink Brunello di Montalcino. In a medieval setting, be prepared to roll up your sleeves and learn how to cook the way Tuscan grandmas and moms do every day in their kitchens for their families. The cooking class will take place in a true Italian kitchen, overlooking the vineyards and the medieval town of Montalcino. Accompanied by an expert local chef, you will prepare a 3-course menu, using only fresh ingredients and local products. Discover the secrets of Italian homemade pasta by learning how to cook 3 types of pasta and 3 different pasta sauces, which are considered staples of the Italian cuisine.

In no time, you will be able to easily recreate Italian traditional dishes at home and brag about your newfound skills. After this hands-on cooking lesson, you will sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labour, paired with a fine selection of Tuscan wines. This tour is not solely a culinary experience, but it is centered around wine as well. The cooking class will be complemented by a wine tasting of the estate’s signature wines: Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC, Iuli’o IGP Toscana.

These exquisite wines are made out of one of the most representative and expensive grape varieties of Italy, Sangiovese Grosso. The last stop of the day is Pienza, a must-see epicenter before returning back to your accommodation. Sample Menu

1. Tagliatelle, Served with ragù: a meat-based sauce with tomatoes 2. Pici all’aglione, Served with sugo all’aglione: a garlic-spiked tomato typical of Tuscany 3. Ravioli, Filled with ricotta and spinach and served with butter and sage
