Full description

The Uffizi Gallery is a must-see when visiting Florence. Built in 1560 and known as the world's oldest museum, it was designed by the famous renaissance architect Giorgio Vasari. The grand duke of Tuscany Cosimo I de Medici decided to re-establish the authority of the Medici family.

After Cosimo I eliminated most of his rivals, he gave an office to the rest to keep an eye on them. In fact, Uffizi means offices. After his death, his children lost interest in politics. His eldest son, Francesco I, brought his private collection of artworks and made the Uffizi his private museum.

On this tour Uffizi tour, save time but also learn inside stories behind some of the most notable masterpieces conserved in Florence.

After your tour, enjoy some refreshments in the cafeteria on the Uffizi Gallery's terrace. Take in the unique views of the city, relax and take pictures.

It was clear to us that visiting the Uffizi Gallery only made sense for us with a guided tour. Because you simply get information there, hints that you don't notice as a 'normal' viewer of the exhibitions. In this respect, one can only recommend everyone to join a guided group, especially if you have pictures, history, culture explained as competently and excitingly as we do in this tour (10 people).

Our tour of the Uffizi Gallery was led by an Austrian. The tour was super structured, easy to understand and initiated us into the time of the Renaissance. We were able to wonderfully understand and understand the change in the pictures shown. The tour was primarily dedicated to the greats of that time and let us experience the understanding of art and the uniqueness of the Medici family. We were very happy about the amount of information, we would not have been able to discover and understand so much on our own. There was neither too much nor too little information - what was chosen was a pleasure to look at.

Our “small group” tour (supposedly max. 10 people) comprised 15 people, which affected the ability of our guide to provide a more personalised tour. It also took us one full hour of the two hour guided tour to gain access to the inside of Uffizi, so time available was quite limited.
