Wander through over 1500 rooms and 130 acres of parkland and gardens, including the the French Renaissance garden, inspired by the Italian Renaissance gardens; the French formal garden, the favorite style of Louis XIV; and the French landscape garden, inspired by the English landscape garden. You will also be able to visit the museums and feel what it must have been like as a king or queen growing up here.

Easy to book tickets online and save to smart phone (Apple wallet in my case). We visited both this Chateau and Versailles. If you have only one option due to time constraints, I would go for Fontainebleau. Very interesting and particularly enjoyed the Napoleon exhibition. Get Your Guide priority tickets are highly recommended.

Nice visit, too bad that we take the Covid as a pretext for not making the audio guides available knowing that we visited Versailles the day before and that they make it available he simply disinfects them in front of us it takes a minute and it enriches a lot the visit

Nice town - good bread at the bakery

Nice town - good bread with the baker in the main street - nice tour of the castle and round in the garden. Used approx. 3 hours there. Bought ticket online so we could go right in after security check. On the way back we also visited the Château de Vaux le Vicomte, which was a bit smaller but more beautiful.
