2. Frascati Wine Road from Rome: Tasting & Lunch

Your guide will meet you as you arrive at Frascati train station. Once introductions are made, your local guide and sommelier will lead you on a walking tour of the shops and botteghe in Frascati, tasting local specialties all along the way. Taste revered local delicacies such as roasted pork (porchetta), biscotti just out of the antique wood-fired oven, and jug wine from the oldest bakery and tavern in town. Oldest meaning hundreds of years old yet still adhering to the age-old traditions that render their products unlike any other. Be sure to leave plenty of room as the best is yet to come. Transportation will be provided to the Old Frascati Vineyard, a historic and renowned family-owned winery that has been producing wine in the region for seven generations. Follow with a guided tasting of each of the winery's products, including Frascati Superiore DOCG white wine, Vagnolo IGP red wine, and Frascati DOC White Wine. Savor the family's extra virgin olive oils paired with a selection of delicious bread. Bid farewell to the winery and swap vineyards for lunch in a hand-picked trattoria featuring the very best cured meats, cheeses, oils, breads, and pasta, and of course - more wine. After lunch and espresso, wave goodbye to your hosts and head back to Rome.

Well worth a visit! Absolutely fantastic wine tasting experience is cellar caves. October is such a scenic time to visit with green overhead vines, and ripe olive trees. We loved this tour more than a Tuscany day tour. You make your own way by train to Frascati & the tour guide was easy to locate on platform (it’s a small station). You then board a car to travel to a Frascati family vineyard. We loved every minute! Then back to old town for a small tour and authentic lunch. There’s generous wine available on this tour vs other tours (ie. half/full glasses, vs a small pour). Highly recommend. For those with limited mobility there are many stairs to return to the train station.

We loved this wine tasting. The owner of the vineyard explained to us how to recognize the quality of a wine by its color and its aromas. She explained to us what must be done so that a wine can obtain the DOC or DOCG designation. We enjoyed tasting the Frascati wine which is so fresh and the color is so clear and bright. Of all the wine tastings and vineyard tours I've done so far, this was my favorite. The owner's passion for her wine was contagious. The meal later in the village was delicious. The super charming village guide. It was a nice high quality tour.

This has to be one of my favorite experiences by far! Irene was amazing, she is very passionate and knowledgeable about the city of Frascati. She even meets you at the train station then takes you on a small tour around before getting to her restaurant. She is so funny and has an amazing personality! Definitely recommend this! You’ll looooveee it! THANK YOU IRENE!

Easy train trip - good instructions on what time to book and arrive- received good email advance reminder- the guide “Daniella” was super friendly and engaging- we even had the bonus expert of a young man from Manchester “Ryan” proposing to his girlfriend “Rachel”- it was super romantic and magical!

Loved the activity. Incredible blow of heart!! I recommend +++ I loved the tastings in the village and also wine tasting with some cheeses in the vineyard!
