Full description
Journey back to the days of the Moors in Spain on a guided tour of the Alhambra. Enter the vast complex and hear about its great influence and importance in the history of Spain. Learn about the architectural styles that were used, with Christianity and Islam both having an influence. Marvel at the beautiful Gate of Pomegranates, then walk past the Pillar of Charles V fountain, erected in 1554 along the route that leads to the main entrance of the Alhambra. Explore the Alcazaba fortress, formerly a military precinct and the oldest area of the Alhambra complex. You will also visit the Nasrid Palaces including the Palace of Mexuar, the Palace of Comares, and the Palace of Leones. Finally head to the Generalife, the summer palace of the Nasrid Emirs, home to one of the oldest surviving gardens of the Moors. Our guide was really good. However, she was 1/2 hour late and we were not told anything about the delay until we even wrote to you via whatsapp. Then you get a little worried if you have been taken by the nose. Furthermore, it was very difficult to find the meeting place. The name Polinario at the cafe / bar we were supposed to meet does not exist, so it was very confusing. It would have been nice if the guide had stood with a sign with your name so you knew you had ended up in the right place. But otherwise a super good trip.

Despite being delayed for our tour start time, the guide (Isabella) and her assistant waited for us patiently. They were professional throughout, as well as being knowledgable and gave us the background to the various historical sites in the Alhambra. We didn't need to wait behind long queues which was a relief.

It was a great way to see the whole city without having to climb the steep hills. From the top we had a wonderful view over the alhambra and the whole city. Our guide accompanied us very nicely and responded to our individual requests. The city tour with the segways was even a lot of fun for the children. Definitely one of our highlights in Granada!
