1. Berlin: Third Reich Under the Swastika Tour in Spanish
The 12 years that the Nazis ruled Germany left an indelible mark on Berlin. On this tour you will discover the impact the Nazis had on the city as you head to different locations, including the dramatic Olympic Stadium, site of the controversial 1936 games. Starting at Potsdamer Platz we will go to the Bendlerblock, the memorial to the German Resistance, where we will talk about the various resistance groups, such as the one organized by Claus von Stauffenberg who was executed in the inner courtyard, after a failed assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler. Visit the remains of an old war bunker in Schöneberg, and see the Volksgerichtshof (People’s Court) before heading into the Bavarian Quarter, formerly known as the “Jewish Switzerland,” where Albert Einstein once lived. You will learn about the Jewish persecution and continue to Track 17 in Grunewald, from where the Jewish population of Berlin was deported to the concentration camps. The tour ends in the impressive Olympic Stadium in the west of the city, where you will have time to explore, and learn about it's use throughout the subsequent years.
