Reykjavik: Golden Circle Tour & Snorkeling with Free Photos

1. Reykjavik: Golden Circle Tour & Snorkeling with Free Photos

How about starting the day with snorkeling in Silfra, a freshwater fissure known to be one of the best diving spots in the world and then drive around beautiful Iceland? Then try The Snorkeling and Golden Circle tour. You can choose whether you snorkel in a wetsuit or drysuit. The difference is in a wetsuit you can dive underneath the surface and explore more of the wonders of Silfra, a freshwater fissure around 60 meters deep. You will not need any experience in diving nor snorkeling. After snorkeling, you will be taken on the Golden Circle tour, which is the most popular tourist route in Iceland. Start at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Þingvellir, where Althing was established around 930. Þingvellir is where Europe and America meet. You will also visit the geothermal active valley Haukadalur where the hot spring geysers Geysir and Strokkur are, as well as the waterfall Gullfoss and the volcano crater Kerið. All the guides are locals and Icelandic nature has been their playground for years.

Reykjavik: Golden Circle & River Rafting Tour

2. Reykjavik: Golden Circle & River Rafting Tour

Enjoy convenient travel with pick-up and drop-off service from your accommodation in Reykjavik. Meet your expert guide and set off on your Icelandic adventure. This thrilling trip will take you to the historical Viking heartlands of Thingvellir, home of Iceland’s first parliament and where you can see the wonders of continental drift. At Thingvellir, you’ll see for yourself how the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are ripping apart, leaving behind gigantic cracks in the Earth’s surface. Meaning you’ll have a unique opportunity to stand on two continents at the same time. Your next stop on your Golden Circle & River Rafting tour brings you to Geysir. In this geothermal wonderland, you’ll see cascades of superheated water and vapor spouting high into the air every few minutes. Geysir’s name comes from the Old Norse word for “gush”. It’s now the name given to erupting hot springs all over the world. At Geysir, you’ll feel the dynamic forces of nature that shape the “Land of Fire and Ice”. Next comes Gullfoss, the “Golden Falls”, a two-stage waterfall that thunders more than 30 meters down into a narrow canyon, fed by millions of gallons of glacial meltwater from Langjokull. It’s another sensational stop on your Golden Circle tour, and if it’s a sunny day, you might find yourself wrapped in rainbows. The grand finale of the tour comes next – this is your chance to take an awe-inspiring river raft ride down the Hvita (White) River from Gullfoss. You’ll step onboard sturdy rafts, floating and paddling your way downstream for 4 miles along the Bruarhlod Canyon. There’ll be some adrenaline-fueled fast-flowing rapids to get your heart pumping too. Of course, we’ll provide all the kit and safety equipment you need.

4. From Reykjavik: Golden Circle Private Day Tour

Embark on a tour along the Golden Circle route which will bring you to the most famous historical and natural attractions of Iceland. Start the tour with pickup from Reykjavik and travel to the Nesjavellir geothermal area, one of the hottest spots in Iceland, located nearby the Hengill volcano. At Nesjavellir, find the second-largest geothermal power station in Iceland, which serves the Reykjavik region with warming water. From Nesjavellir, head to the Thingvellir National Park and drive by the side of Thingvallavatn lake, offering spectacular views of the landscape. The Thingvellir National park served as parliament ground for many centuries, from the time of early Viking settlers and up to 19th century. The suits that they provided were very good. These included life jackets. They had good changing facilities as well. I would recommend bringing a swim shirt and bathing suit which will get wet. Contrary to the picture this is white water rafting with stretches of rough Rapids. They give you the option of jumping off one of the 15 foot cliffs in the water. It helps to know how to paddle.

Yippee!! Our guide went the extra mile; she took us to a special ice cream dairy farm, scrumptious. The waterfalls, geysers, and the river rafting experience were absolutely amazing. Don't miss out on teamwork and an up-close river activity with a lesson in Icelandic geology.

This was one of the most exciting days in Iceland. Our guide Adam was the best- so friendly and informative, sharing personal observations, experience and answering my million questions

river rafting was the finest thing I did. I thank you. Great company to do business with.

Wonderful experience! Rafting was the most fun we did in Iceland.
