We had an amazing time on this trip. Every part of it was really cool. Our guide, Rob, was the best. We learned so much about the island’s history, culture, current issues, and interesting facts. The whole trip was very comfortable with just the right amount of bathroom stops, snacks, water, yummy food. We never felt rushed. And we saw the most epic views of Kīlauea’s bubbling lava with millions of stars and the Milky Way. It was remarkable.

This is a must do. From the steam vents to the cliff at the beach, the lava tube, the volcano and our wonderful tour guide, Rob. it was all pretty magnificent. The luxury van was a comfortable ride and lunch and dinner were delicious. Rob was well prepared for anything we needed to make this trip a memorable experience!!

The volcano tour with Hawaii Forest & Trail Kona is something we had been looking forward to for a long time, and our high expectations were even exceeded. Three absolute highlights were the Kauhi Cavern lava tube with gold shining bacteria covering the walls (we even found a cave dwelling transparent insect), the epic bubbling lava lake at night time, and our tour guide Rob, who was a) extremely knowledgeable on volcanoes, animal and plant life, as well as the importance of Hawaii to astronaut training and preparing humanity for the long trip to Mars, b) very enthusiastic about being there with us and exploring the wonders of the island, and finally c) very kind and caring. We fully recommend this tour!
