Eger offers a number of sites dating from the time of the Ottoman Empire, including the 40 meters high Turkish Minaret, which is the northernmost in Europe, and the Turkish Bath. The city and surrounding region are also famous for wine. The Valley of the Beautiful Woman is home to numerous wine cellars. Their history goes back to the 18. century or earlier. You can taste the high quality local red, white and rosé wines in the historical cellars.
