Huon Valley

Morning Embark on our favourite day tour from Hobart to Hastings Cave and Tahune Airwalk in Tasmania's Far South. Leaving Hobart, we quickly descend into the beautiful Huon Valley as we embark on our two hour journey. We drive through the beautiful winding roads of the Deep South as we stretch our legs at the wooden boat building town of Franklin before we head to our first destination, Hastings Caves. After a quick walk through a spectacular cool temperature rainforest, we head underground with a specialist guides. They will expertly guide you through the largest dolomite cave open to visitors in Australia. Above all, you will learn about the spectacular stalactites, columns, shawls and stalagmites. Although underground, the cave is spacious with no narrow passages. However, there are 250 stairs with handrails leading you in and out of Hastings Cave. Following our visit to Hastings Caves, we explore more of the Huon Valley as we wind through the countryside toward Tahune Airwalk. Middle of the day Between October and April we stop at the historic Kermandie Hotel. Built in 1932, the charming Kermandie remains the heart of Port Huon. Here you can enjoy a delicious lunch (not included in price) with spectacular views over its private marina on the Huon River. Alternatively, in the colder months you can enjoy lunch (not included in price) at the Tahune Airwalk café. Afternoon After lunch our tour ventures into the forest at Tahune, where we will spend two hours exploring the forest. Here you get to walk among the treetops on the Tahune Airwalk – a steel canopy that overlooks the forest floor 30 metres below. Breathe deep as you do a forest walk and be brave as you cross the river on a swinging bridge. Scared of heights? No problem! Follow the sturdy footpath or relax on the deck overlooking the forest and enjoy a drink or snack from the cafe. Follow the Huon Pine Trail to see and smell one of Australia’s oldest living trees. Find out how fire has affected the forest and see first-hand the natural regeneration that occurs in a forest environment. Finally, you can sit back and relax as we make our tour makes its way back to Hobart after a fun day out amongst the natural surrounds of Southern Tasmania. We aim to get you back to Hobart by about 5:30pm ready for you to rest at your hotel or enjoy a range of cuisines at one of Hobart's many fine restaurants.

Spend a day sampling the traditional drinks of Tasmania on this guided tour. Enjoy natural landscapes and a tasteful combination of award-winning wines and ciders. Start the day at 10:00 AM at Brooke Street Pier on the picturesque Hobart Waterfront. After a welcome coffee, the tour sets off to the beautiful Huon Valley, home to Tasmania’s bountiful apple and cherry orchards. Sample award-winning wines at Home Hill Winery, including sparkling, chardonnay, pinot noir, dessert wines, and more while taking a leisurely stroll through the vineyards. At Pagan Cider Cellar Door, experience traditional farmhouse-style organic apple ciders and compare them to more modern examples made from a variety of fruits from the valley. Taste delicious cider at Willie Smith's Apple Shed and local produce from the valley will be on offer for lunch. In the afternoon head to the Hobart Brewing Company for a brewery tour and tastings of their beers, then it's off to either Spring Bay Distillery or Charles Reuben Estate, both amazing distilleries with delightful spirit tastings. Your day ends by being dropped off at Brooke St Pier by 5:30 PM.

On this small group tour, we will visit at least 4 wineries and enjoy samples of some of the region’s best wines. Round-trip transportation lets you sip without worry. Itinerary: Pickup from your Hotel or Accommodation within 5km of Hobart CBD (approx. 9.30am) The day will start with a drive to a local family-owned vineyard to begin your introduction to the wines of the region. Through the day we will visit an additional at least 4 handpicked small & unique vineyards where you will experience a tasting & learn about the wines they produce. Lunch will provide you with the opportunity to sample local produce. Depending on time we may have a chance to sample some local cheeses and chocolates. Drop off at your hotel or accommodation within 5km of Hobart CBD (approx. 4.30pm)

We will drop in to Richmond a historic village and walk on Australia's oldest bridge or visit “Sweets and Treats”, a traditional-style Lolly shop, Round-trip transportation lets you sip without worry. Highlights: The tour is small and intimate with a maximum of 6 guests. The tour is catered for adults only. Private driver and air-conditioned vehicle Pick up from your ship This tour includes up to 4 vineyards for tasting including a lunch stop. Includes stop at Historic Richmond Includes wine tasting We will adapt the start and finish times around your ships arrival and departure times. Itinerary: Pickup from your ship (approx. 9.30am) The day will start with a drive to a local family-owned vineyard to begin your introduction to the wines of the region. Through the day we will visit an additional 2 handpicked small & unique vineyards where you will experience a tasting & learn about the wines they produce. Lunch will provide you with the opportunity to sample local produce at its best at one of the region's most beautiful vineyards. On the way home we will stop in at Historic Richmond for a wander around. Drop off at your Ship (approx 3:30pm)
