Things to do in Indonesia

Anisa was my guide. As it’s the low season now, I was lucky enough to have her all to myself. She speaks excellent English and is a wealth of knowledge. She explained every food stand we visited, telling me about the various foods and giving me options. She took me to some very authentic Food stands and restaurants. I tried a variety of different foods, all of which were really good. One thing I appreciated, especially as it poured with rain for the first hour, was that we moved from food stand to food, stand via a motorized becak (a type of motorized rickshaw) which was excellent as it saved time, stopped us getting soaked, and was easy on my feet!! We walked down the famous Malioboro Street, which was interesting to see and if you’re in the market for buying some boutique, there are numerous stores to choose from. We ended the tour just behind the Sulton palace, which was an area full of food stands and activities.

Both of our drivers, the transfer to the base lodge, the jeep driver , Leon, were wonderful, helpful and flexible. All timely, and made the excursion even more of a treat
