Full description

Embark on a guided private day tour of Inverness and discover notable points of interest in and around the city. Visit Cawdor Castle, Fort George Military Museum, the Culloden Battlefield, and the Clava Cairns (entry not included) and benefit from an entry ticket to the Glenord Distillery.

Start with pickup from your accommodation in Inverness and hop into the tour vehicle to start your exploration of the city. Make your first stop at Cawdor Castle and, after admission, take a guided tour of the building with the onsite staff.

Continue next to the Fort George Military Museum and Highlander's Museum which you can visit at your own pace. Learn a bit about the various Highland Regiments of the British Army with many displays of military artifacts.

Travel to the Culloden Battlefield where your driver will give you a narrative of the events that led to this final confrontation of the Jacobite Rising of 1745. You can also enter the visitor center and the onsite exhibition.

Head to the nearby Clava Cairns, a series of mysterious stone circles which date back to the Bronze Age. Head west to the village of Dores and Dores Beach which is situated directly on the banks of Loch Ness. Stop on the banks of the famous loch and see if you can spot Nessy.

The tour then heads back towards Inverness and arrives at Glenord Distillery in Muir of Ord. Here, you can enjoy a "wee dram" of whisky with a guided tour, at an extra cost. Alternatively, you can visit Beauly Priory, a ruinous 12th-century church, before being dropped back at your accommodation.
