Full description
Tell your friends you’ve been to Asia and Europe in one day by joining us on a guided tour of Istanbul’s most historic sites. Led by an expert guide, you’ll visit the impressive Dolmabahçe Palace, the official home of Ottoman Sultans. Built by two famous Ottoman architects, the palace houses a museum-worthy collection of European furniture, art and antiquities. Then it’s off to the Bosphorus Bridge, which straddles the narrow waterway that separates Europe and Asia. Once you’ve crossed the bridge it’s time to head to Camlica HIll, which offers dramatic, panoramic views of the city from almost 300 meters above sea level. Please note, on Mondays and Thursdays the palace is closed, so the tour will make three different stops: Eyüp Sultan Mosque and Tomb, Pierre Loti Coffee House and Miniatürk park.

The tour guide was good, and the coach was comfortable. The palace was fantastic, very ornate, with lots to see. Then we had a long drive across the bridge to view the east side of Istanbul. We stopped at a café for half an hour to see the view. However, we feel this long break should not have been part of the trip, as it made the tour not very good value for money.

Right from the beginning when dealing with the local contractor to sort hotel pickup, this tour was a well oiled and professional feel to it. The buses we used were clean and air conditioned, plenty of seat belts available as well. Our guide was generous with information, much about the contemporary city. Visiting two continents and the Dolmanxhe Palace is an afternoon was a real treat. It was my seventh visit to Istanbul in 3 years, and definitely the best few hours I have had. I would strongly recommend half day tours in Istanbul.
