Enjoy a scenic stop for a hearty packed lunch of a sandwich, juice, fruit, chips, and brownies. Meeting daily at 2:30 PM at the Visitor Information Center lawn, the 3-hour walking tour will take you around the town of Jasper. Learn about its history while travelling between four local restaurants and visiting points of interest along the way. At each restaurant, guests will try a top dish and a perfectly paired boozy drink to experience the real taste of Jasper’s food scene. As guests cruise between each scrumptious stop they will enjoy not only exquisite eats but some of Jasper’s tastiest tales by getting the rundown of the bewildering history of this spectacular mountain town. The goal is for each guest to leave full, in both body and mind.

Take on the grade 2 whitewater rapids on the Athabasca River while taking in the fresh air and scenic mountain views. Start your tour in the town of Jasper and head only 8 km south to the put-in point. After suiting up in wetsuits and a safety talk, it's off to the river. Begin with a 10-minute float to get comfortable in the raft, experience the river environment, and admire the 360-degree Mountain View. After, embark on the grade 2 rapids which guarantee a splash without the likelihood of falling in. You can choose to swim in the glacial water if you feel brave enough. After 4 or 5 sections of rapids, the Miette River joins the Athabasca and the trip ends just around the corner at Old Fort Point. All trips are in 8-person rafts with a licensed river guide.

5. Jasper: Wildlife & Waterfalls Tour with Maligne Lake Cruise

Following a pick-up from your accommodation in Jasper, climb aboard a 21-seat tour bus for a comfortable drive up the valley. Your first stop will be at Maligne Canyon. Enjoy an easy 30-minute walk and see the deepest portion at 164 feet, including a thundering waterfall. Re-board your bus and drive on through stunning landscapes en route to Medicine Lake. Here the tour will make a 10-minute stop for photos, and your guide will explain why this is known locally as the "disappearing lake." Continue on to Maligne Lake and take a 90-minute scenic cruise to Spirit Island. Throughout the day, look out for Canada’s famous wildlife, such as abundant moose, the odd black bear, and even a grizzly.

The Athabasca Falls trip is probably our most scenic. After a 30-minute bus drive from town guests are suited up in our wetsuit gear. After a safety talk there is a 5-minute portage to the river. This river trip starts with a bang. Once out in the main current the first set of rapids is only seconds way. Once these rapids have soaked everyone in the raft the rafters find themselves in a canyon. For the next 30-minutes there are no trails or roads next to the river it is just the river and you. The canyon ends with another set of rapids and spectacular views of the Athabasca River valley. Once back at the highway it is about 20 minutes to the take out. There are more sections of rapids but also flat section to enjoy and learn about the natural surroundings. All trips are in 8-person rafts with a licensed river guide.

7. Jasper: Wildlife and Waterfalls Tour with Lakeshore Hike

Travel by comfortable minibus on this 5.5-hour excursion to the Maligne Valley, the most spectacular scenery in the Canadian Rockies. Along the way, your naturalist guide will provide commentary on the history and natural wonders of the area. Stop at 2 of the bridges to take in views of the cascading waterfalls and see the continuing erosion of ancient limestone. At the world-famous Maligne Lake, head out on a 3 to 4-kilometer interpretive nature walk. Admire the beautiful lakeshore vistas before following the easy-grade trail loop back into the forested area. After the hike, you’ll have a bit of free time to relax at the Maligne Lake Day Lodge before returning to Jasper.

8. Jasper: Private Helicopter Tour with Mountaintop Snowshoeing

Soak up panoramic aerial views of the rugged peaks of Jasper National Park on a private helicopter ride from Jasper. Experience a mountaintop landing with an easy casual snowshoeing trek and an optional mountaineering guide. Meet your pilot at Jasper Hinton Airport for a quick safety briefing, including a gear check and aircraft awareness training. Then, hop in your private Long Ranger helicopter and take to the skies. Soar above the peaks of the Canadian Rocky Mountains and through Jasper National Park before landing on a remote mountaintop amongst the incredible rising mountains. Hop out and enjoy up to one hour to explore the area in your snow shoes. Witness animal tracks, untouched snow, and an abundance of fresh mountain air. The route is not challenging and follows a ridge line where the helicopter landing zone is visible at all times, so it's impossible to get lost. After your snowshoe hike, hop back into the helicopter for your return flight. Enjoy one final glimpse of the Rockies before returning to the airport with lots of photos and memories.
