Full description

You will travel from Krakow in a minivan with 8 or 22 seats. After the 1.5-hour drive to the site you’ll have a short break before the tour. Your guided tour begins at Auschwitz, the main camp, in a group of no more than 30 visitors.

You’ll be led by a professional, museum-employed guide. Receivers and earpieces are provided by the Auschwitz Museum to ensure that you’re able to hear the guide clearly. You’ll spend around 2 hours taking in all the permanent exhibitions and buildings at the main camp, and then have a 15-minute break.

Following the break there will be a short drive to Birkenau, the second part of the camp, located about 3 km from Auschwitz. The Birkenau visit lasts approximately 1 hour. For regular guided tours, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum limits the time each group spends on the grounds to 3.5 hours including the break in between sites.

An extra paid lunch box can also be ordered from your driver.

A very long and tiring day but well worth it. Picked up from my hotel by the driver, the delightful Peter, and proceeded to our first stop, Auschwitz. Our guide throughout both Auschwitz and Auschwitz-Birkenau was very knowledgeable and pleasant and was more than happy to answer any questions asked. He was lovely. It is a fast paced visit and you need to be pretty active to keep up, particularly in Birkenau which is very large and walking entirely on gravel pathways. But nobody complained, we all thought of the prisoners and what they endured so our small walk was absolutely nothing compared to what they went through. Only eight of us in a mini van and everyone connected personally so was far better than a large coach tour. Highly recommend.

Our driver Patrick was very sympathetic and friendly, I received a text in advance that he would arrive within a few minutes, drove very carefully and a super reception. Our tour guide Bella explained everything very nicely and well, in the end she went through it quickly as if she had to be home

This was a great (if you can call it that) We were picked up outside our apartment on time and the driver was very pleasant. He drove us to Auschwitz where we were met by our guide who was incredible, passionate about her work and easy to understand. We were then driven to Auschwitz 2 where the guide met us again. A day I will never forget and something you have to see. The tour went smoothly from beginning to end. I would not suggest doing a tag on tour eg salt mine, with Auschwitz as the day would be just too much.
