We had already booked our tickets online and we didn't have to wait long for it to be confirmed at the ticket office. The feery came in about 10 minutes before departure and there was a swift and professional movement to get everybody on board. We went mid week and there was still plenty of seating, but I guess on a weekend it can be exceptionally busy. Commentary is done via the tannoys, they do not oversaturate you with information but keep you informed about the different buildings that you are passing on the River Mersey. There are plenty of seats on board and you get a good view from all directions. Well worth the £11 for the 45 to 50 minute journey.

The day I booked; the colourful ferry was in Manchester so we had to make do with a plain ferry which looked a bit like a fishing vessel. I didn't mind though because I just wanted to experience a trip on the Mersey. There was quite a few people for the trip and they wasted no time in boarding us no faffing at all. I sat right up at the front. It was lovely lovely views. It was a bit nippy in the wind when the boat turned away from the sun so I would really recommend a jacket or hat.

We went on the first on the first one of the day and had to wait a while to board. There were no queues at that time but when we left it was very busy! Definitely wear warm clothing, it gets exceedingly windy and whilst there is an inside to go to, the point of our trip was to be on deck. The audio was was very good we learnt a lot.
